Feedback: What a different day to last year! The weather was glorious and added to the festival spirit created by the sound of the Salvation Army brass band who played a selection of music as people arrived.
About 300 people came along. Some set up picnic sites on the pitch while many stayed in the relative shade and cool of the stands. The sound crew did an excellent job and the well balanced sound could be heard in a neighbouring estate. Andrea Minichiello Williams from the Lawyers Christian Fellowship, came to speak to us about some of the issues and bills passing through Parliament.
Because of a bill in the House of Commons the following day, she stressed the need to pray about the Fertilisation and Embryology Bill.
Many local Church leaders led sections of prayer and the youth from several Churches performed 2 dramas and 2 dances. Young people also performed a flag dance during the worship time. This was an important event for the town and for the nation. It was great to see representatives from so many churches and visitors from several other towns. It was a shame that our time allocation was so tightly framed, but it was a great day.
