Feedback: The 10 Days of Prayer [2 – 11th May] involved 24/10 prayer with over 20 churches involved. A mixture of places open for prayer, joint prayer events and 24 hr rotas. Prayer Guide issued for churches/groups to use. Pocket Guides issued for individual use.
Faith on the Streets [9 & 10th May] was two days when from 10.00 – noon and 2.00 – 4.00pm each day we had teams of people out in the town centre using Pentecost 2008 questionnaires as a prompt to conversations about faith. Special tracts were prepared for use. A Market Stall was also used as a place of contact and prayer. 200 fully completed questionnaires are being analysed and 6 people prayed for salvation on the streets.
Praise in the Park [GDoP] [11th May] - An outdoor event based at the Bandstand in the town’s main park. Lovely weather with 700/800 people attending. The event was opened by the Mayor who stayed right through. The programme opened with the Declaration of Hope and the Prayer for the World which was shared in three different slots. Participation reflected a broad churchmanship with around 13 Church Leaders taking part in the service. All in all some 20 churches had involvement, many other churches had people attending and the occasion went very well.
