Feedback: Our second Global Day of Prayer meeting was held in the magnificent 900 year old Norwich Cathedral in the heart of the city. Due to the beautiful weather the great West Doors were wide open so that the sound of our worship and intercession could be heard in the surrounding area. We were welcomed by the Dean and sections were led by the Archdeacon, Salvation Army, Methodist Superintendent, Call to Prayer, Pentecostal minister, Transforming Norwich and Youth for Christ. A new initiative, “Every Home is Special” was launched in the city by Transforming Norwich as part of Hope 08. Young people from Youth for Christ came with their own special flavour of prayer and heart for God to move in our city and nation. The praise and worship reached new heights of glory and God’s presence was tangible. Young dancers danced during one song accompanied by a young lad glorifying the Lord with flags. Prayer for the nations took place individually as each person had a card with details of a different country to pray for, they were encouraged to take the card home and continue to pray for the country during the year. The children this time had their own programme in another building, led and organised by leaders from different churches. The children worshipped and prayed and took time to listen to God. As we prayed for the nations the children joined us carrying the flags of the nations, they gathered at the front and some of them prayed short but effective prayers. The time closed as all the local ministers came forward and together declared the blessing of Aaron. It was a glorious time in the presence of God, being part of this world wide movement and day of prayer was a privilege. Surely we are ushering in the time when “the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea”.
