Feedback: We registered our County Wide Prayer Celebration in Buxton as a GDP event. The celebration took place to mark the end of the third County Wide "Derbyshire Prayer Walk", taking place each year during the 8 days of Prayer Week. Over the past three years, the prayer walk team have walked right down the centre of Derbyshire North to South, and then right round the perimeter, West to East across the North and then right down the East side in 2007, then right across the South, East to West and up the West side to Buxton in 2008. In every town where we over-nighted, and most lunchtimes there have been town wide prayer meetings, making a total of about 40 towns and villages covered over the three years. Buxton 11th May 2008 was the final meeting of these three years.

On a Global scale, our event in Buxton was a small drop in the large ocean, but we believe that the Lord was in it from the start and encouraging us to put this on. 80 - 90 people gathered, from towns right across the county.

The chairman of Derbyshire County Council, who is a Christian, was there to share issues for prayer, and to be prayed for by the Prayer Walkers and church leaders in the room, and then she herself prayed with great conviction for the various district councils and many parish councils in the County. Finally, one of the Buxton Pastors shared issues for Buxton itself, with everyone raising a loud voice in prayer for this spiritually significant place (highest town in England, surrounded by much occult activity). There was a tremendous atmosphere of praise and thanksgiving, and very urgent prayer throughout the evening. Reports back indicate that those assembled felt very positive about the evening.
