Feedback: It was such a privilege to join with 214 nations (only 6 in the world still to register!) in the largest prayer gathering the WORLD has seen on 11 May 2008. Those who joined in West were also part of a larger gathering in Bangor itself, as the three venues in West, Central and East Bangor proclaimed honour and glory to Jesus at the same time, thereby covering the town in prayer and strengthening inter-denominational links at local geographical areas.

In West area God had given us the theme to ‘press in deeper in prayer’ this year and to ask for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit and this was reflected through the leading of the Holy Spirit during the service. Many denominations were represented in the programme participation and in the congregation. We were also delighted to have the Mayor present (he spent an equal period at the three services) and to also have MLA and Councillor representation and most of all a strong sense of God’s presence throughout the service, which was set within the model of prayer Jesus taught us, wonderfully portrayed in mime and song.

Spontaneous applause broke out as the flags of a number of nations were carried down the aisles to the song “Hear the Sound of the Nations Calling” beautifully portrayed in prophetic dance.

Following a declaration inviting the King of Glory to come to the nations of the world, resounding congregational praise led us into prayers conducted in a most anointed way led by the narration headings of the Lords Prayer. It was inspirational to hear both the Global Day of Prayer (spoken consecutively around the world) and specific prayers given by those taking part for the youth of our generation, our council and government and other local and national matters. Again a beautiful picture was painted seeing a mother and child stand together to represent our accepting the Kingdom with the simplicity and trust of a child.

The section when we asked God to ‘forgive us as we forgive others’ carried a deep sense of the presence of the Holy Spirit during which reflective silence enabled us to bring our own prayers to God.

In the final part of the service which focussed on prayer for revival spontaneous applause again broke forth as the prophetic dancers led us in a very powerful song ‘Let it rain’, followed by an inspiring prayer asking God to visit us again in personal and national
revival.

“The Spirit and the Bride say come. Even so come Lord Jesus”.

Warmest thanks to all who participated and particularly to our wonderful team of young people in their stewarding capacity.
