Feedback: About five hundred people flocked to Clonard Monastery in the heart of West Belfast for the Global Day of Prayer, people from different Churches and denominations in North, South, East and West of the City joined with many others from all around the province Together we praised and worshiped God, repented of the things we have done, and those which we have failed to do.

We were moved by graphic images and statistics relating to the main issues affecting our communities and humbled ourselves in prayer, seeking Gods healing in these areas. Many people were touched as we exchanged cards with scripture on them and prayed blessing on one another. We lit a candle of Hope and made a declaration of Hope for 2008 for ourselves, our Church, our Communities and Nation.

We have been greatly encouraged by the desire of the unity pilgrims in Clonard to build on what took place and the following comments by Fr. Gerry Reynolds:“One of the big positives about last night for me was the variety of people who came – many for the first time in Clonard church praying with us for the needs of the local community.”
“My deep sense is that in the Global Day of Prayer event here you have brought a great blessing to West Belfast.”
